Who We Are
We are a team of three, Elizabeth Keller, Joshua Arnold, and Mark Keller. We have combined our passions for nature, art, design, conservation, and community enrichment to create something far bigger than ourselves.
Our Why
We each have different reasons for doing this, however, we all see the vast benefits that a true connection with nature can provide. We want to make is easy and fun for people to wander and explore and make connections with each other and nature.
What We Provide
WanderingWashtenaw.com allows you to find the places that best match your needs by providing a park finder tool and park guides. Our present focus is on diverse nature areas in Washtenaw County, which is where our passion for nature has grown as well as being our current home.
One of our goals is to build an inclusive community of naturalists at every experience and age level. We will provide education through workshops, programs, events, and leading volunteers in conservation projects. By introducing children to nature through fun programs we can plant the seeds of love and passion for conservation. We are also excited to offer meet-ups specifically designed for teenagers to enhance their connection with nature in social settings. Additionally, we will have workshops geared towards adults with topics ranging from “Mini Herb Gardens” to “Basics of Birding” and many others!
This Campaign
We have this amazing idea, some connections to help us get started, and the passion to make this happen. What we don’t have are the funds to launch our plans in ways that will draw in the community and allow us to make the big impact that we’d like to. We need to be able to have the resources to follow through with our plans for educational events and workshops. This means flyers, pamphlets, supplies for classes, nature tools, gear, etc. We want to be as inclusive as possible and allow anyone that would like to participate in our enrichment opportunities to be able to do so! Another area that these funds will go to is allowing us to take the steps needed to become a certified nonprofit. This will open so many more doors for partnership and fundraising opportunities on a larger scale.
How You can Help
We believe that meeting a fundraising goal of $500 will give us a great start in our goals and get us going on a path that will be beneficial to so many people in Washtenaw County and beyond. Every dollar counts, and we appreciate your contributions to our cause!
Help us, help you, to build an enriching nature community!
