About Us
We are a small team of volunteers raising money for the Park Place At-Risk Youth Shelter in Savannah, GA. By using film and music we hope to bring different parts of the city together and give back to the community.

Our Story
A year ago my team and I began a documentary about Savannah, GA. Some of you may have heard of Savannah, most have not. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Southeast United States. What many people don't know is that the city of Savannah is rife with poverty, crime and violence. In 2016, we ranked in the top 10 highest murder rate per capita. These statistics are not well known except to locals. The city does what it can to protect its historic, picturesque image at the expense of the impoverished natives.
The film started as a simple project aimed at showcasing local talent. After a few months of filming interviews we realized there was a much bigger story to tell. We wanted to paint a picture about the real Savannah people never see and how this underground hip hop scene could be used to save lives if used correctly.
Why it is important
We at C-Portlandia Productions can say with full confidence a lot of the issues the city faces stem from youth with nowhere to go. Many local kids here fall into gang life at an alarming rate. The Park Place Youth Shelter we are raising money for has been doing the heavy lifting for a few decades now by providing kids a place to escape abuse, gang-life and give them a second opportunity to get their lives on track. That's why this fund raising is so crucial. We also want to raise awareness about how simply giving children an opportunity to develop skills and hobbies like music, crafts or artistic outlets can save any child from going down the wrong path.
"Park Place Outreach - Youth Emergency Shelter is pleased to offer our support to your documentary, the SAV. Our organizations share the common goal of helping disenfranchised youth find inspiration and motivation to make healthy life choices towards a productive future in Savannah. Giving children exposure and options, whether through hip hop or otherwise, helps promote optimism and hope. We appreciate you telling the story of Savannah's hip hop scene and your efforts to unite this community towards our common goals."
