Project Regenerate is an initiative of the Hurstville South Public School P&C Committee. As parents we recognise and appreciate that a stimulating and inviting school environment will lead to happy and well educated
children.
The school has an outstanding academic record driven by exceptional teaching staff and led by a principal that is involved in every aspect of the school's activities.
One thing that is difficult and expensive to change is the school infrastructure. It is here that the P&C Committee play an active role assisting the school in the improvement of both facilities and equipment. This
is typically achieved through a range of fund raising mechanisms: barbeques, raffles and events.
With the emergence of social media and a large project ahead of us, we are keen to see how StartSomeGood can help us achieve our objective of creating a useable greenspace for the children to play and learn.
Within the school grounds, this is currently the only greenspace available for the children to play. This is the area we will regenerate. It is clear from its appearance that it is not the most inviting area in which
to play and as a result it has been largely unused over the last 5 years.
The plan is to engage with the school community and extended local community to garner as much support as possible for the project.
The children are very excited by the prospect of getting a new recreational space. This will become obvious in the video updates that will be uploaded over the campaign period.
Bitumen surfaces are plentiful, but are not ideal for general recreation.
The bitumen will not be removed in this project, but rather, the grounds will be improved to make the available green space more accessible. Maybe we will tackle bitumen in a future StartSomeGood project.
