We want to be ready and we want others to be ready also.
When disaster strikes it can cause fear, confusion and lack of direction. We want to eliminate as much pain and suffering as possible thus the need for a pre planned, designed and configured mobile command post.
*** Mobile = capable of taking as close as possible to the affected area.
*** Planned = Personnel with designated functions as to help with the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical needs of the people effected by the disaster.
*** Configured = Protective gear, Food, Water , and communications equipment
What would an incident look like?
During the recent tornados in Arkansas, as you watch the relief effort you will see first responders arrive, and as the weeks go on you will see other organizations start to show up. They will perform task such as debris removal, food stations, case work,
etc. When we show up we provide:
*** Communications such as Phone, Internet and social media
*** Collaboration between churches, fire, police, EMS, and government
*** Assessments and Case Work
Points of Distribution - Coordination of distributing food, water, medicine etc.,
Here is an example of a church food pantry that could easily be a Point of Distribution in a disaster and often is.
