Who We Are
Little Adventurers Day Home opened its doors in the late summer of 2011. Within our first month three families had enrolled their children into our child care. By the next month, two more families were recipients of our services. We experienced rapid growth
within the first few months...and we were unprepared for it. We learned that there are many families in the Lents community where we operate that needed our services. Nevertheless, we sustained several losses because we lacked the manpower and resources to
accommodate the growth we experienced. As a result, Little Adventurers Day Home was forced to shut down..but only temporarily! Our mission is still the same: To strengthen family bonds and build community through education and the arts, and we intend to fulfill
it with the help of our friends, family, neighbors, and people like YOU with a heart for early childhood education and the development and suppport of low-income or no-income families.
Why You Should Support Us
The Lents community in Portland, Oregon is a community with underserved populations (i.e., Blacks, immigrants, low-income families, non-English speaking families) who do not have immediate access to quality child care services or other family resources that
would give them a solid start toward a better future.
Little Adventurers Day Home, while not a nonprofit organization or government-funded agency, was designed to aid families in the Lents community. We know we can do great good for them...but we cannot do it alone. We need your help. Help us bring homework
assistance, tutoring, and preschool preparatory classes to Lents children. Help us once again keep child care affordable and accessible to every Lents family, especially those that would not be able to afford it otherwise. Help us provide parents with effective
tools and information that promote healthy interaction with their small children. Your support means so much and would not be in vain.
