Mungoes v Mustards
It's been a huge year for both CSU Mitchell Rugby League (Mungoes) and CSU Mitchell Rugby Union (Mustards) as both teams finished the 2019 season as First Grade premiers in their respective competitions.
The rivalry between the two CSU teams has stemmed for quite some time now so both teams look to settle scores through a game of Rugby League at the end of the year.
It's an annual tradition which saw the Mustards win the game in 2018.
Last year the Women's got involved which was great to see! The Mungals hold the trophy from last year.
For 2019, both teams have discussed that this event would be a great opportunity to raise money for a charity close to all of us.
Might & Mane most definitely appealed to us the most with the founders of the organisation being ex-CSU students.
What is Might & Mane?
Might & Mane is a mental health support service distributed through Aussie barbers.
We put our barbers through a 3 hour training session where they learn skills of safe conversation, and about existing help services they can refer clients onto.
Our barbers aren’t psychologists, they’re regular people encouraging empowered conversations and normalising help-seeking behaviour & they’re an awesome touch point for blokes.
Currently based in Sydney, but with big plans to move into other cities and rural areas, Might & Mane wants to ensure all Aussie men are checking in on their mental health as regularly as they get their haircut.
Why Donate?
Not only is this going to be an exciting game, there's a huge reason to donate!
Both teams have a bet!
If Mungoes win, Daniel Adamson and Aden MacDougall, from the Mustards will shave their heads.
If Mustards win, Lachlan Balcombe, from the Mungoes will shave his head.
