Most parks do not have anything to offer activities for the sight impaired, and handicapped wheel chair bound visitors. This project would give everyone a great and different activity to safely enjoy. “Mazes for the Blind and
the Mind” can be built in any park with very little space requirements and can actually utilize what could be termed “wasted space”. I believe that these mazes will also provide a place, a project, for individuals to get involved, donate their time, and volunteer
to build something that they can visit, enjoy, and remember for the rest of the their lives. In a word: “Satisfaction!” I love walking through the maze although I can see where it goes. I am hoping that everyone that gets involved in this project by helping
build a maze or by helping with the funding will have the same opportunity. It is a peaceful experience. It is hard to imagine the fun, apprehension, puzzlement and joy that a sight impaired, wheel chair bound visitor, or small child must experience as they
wonder through the maze. This is what these mazes are all about.
$15,000 Tipping Point Goal
Tipping Point Goal
If we reach our tipping point, my wife and I will retire and begin working on building mazes throughout the United States, with our goal of a maze in every state. We will use a portion of this money to form a
company and incorporate. We may form a 501C Not for Profit Corporation as this project proceeds. We will purchase a new video camera for taking better videos of each maze that we build. For the editing, we will purchase a Macintosh computer
with a good program for video editing. With this equipment we can produce professional looking videos for promoting the maze projects, as we go from town to town, state to state. For only a $1.00 pledge you can learn to make my hummingbird! For only an $8.00
pledge I will make you one myself!

Ultimate Goal
Our ultimate goal will cover materials to begin to build a prototype of a portable version of a Maze for the Blind and the Mind. I want to develop a light weight, highly portable, and easy to configure portable maze that could be sold and/or rented for
service club events and private parties. Some of the funds will be used to cover travel, labor and planning costs for the first maze to be built. A recreation vehicle may be purchased to save on lodging expenses, have a traveling office and to transport equipment
and supplies.
