Our Vision
The LDN Research Trust became a registered charity in 2004 setup to help and support people with autoimmune diseases and cancers obtain LDN information and to help initiate clinical trials around the
world.
We are trying to gain financial support for a 20 minute LDN documentary we plan to produce to raise further awareness of LDN around the world. It will include interviews from LDN Prescribing doctors,
pharmacists, researchers and most importantly LDN users that have life changing experiences. Filming will take place in the UK and Las Vegas at the LDN 2014 conference.
The documentary will give further insight of LDN to potential prescribing doctors and those wishing to know more about the finer points of LDN either before or after starting.
Background & Experience
Low Dose Naltrexone or LDN had been used as a treatment since 1985 for autoimmune diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Crohn’s Disease, Fibromyalgia, ME, HIV and cancers, which are among the 174 conditions
we know LDN could possible treat. LDN is also used for depression, pain and in fertility clinics.
LDN isn’t a miracle drug or a cure and doesn’t help everyone, although we do know it has helped over 100,000 people around the world.
Several small studies have been carried out which have shown LDN is a safe and non-toxic drug. Further LDN trials and studies are being planned, these are desperately needed but it takes £millions and
several years to complete. Only then will LDN be readily prescribed.
Any doctor can prescribe LDN off label if they choose and many will do so, we aim to increase those numbers. Sadly most people have to pay for their LDN privately.
The Future We Are Creating
We would like all those that have a condition were LDN could help, to obtain a prescription today rather than waiting until full scale clinical trials have been carried out, as that could be too late
for many people that are suffering now.
LDN is an inexpensive drug which could save $millions around the world if it was used as a first line treatment, this would certainly help every country in this current economic climate. Not only do
governments lose money by sick people not working and not paying taxes, it is also very expensive caring and treating the sick. It is also very stressful for families involved.
