Have you ever heard about Hogar San Pablo?
It’s is a retired correctional facility located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The building still retains most of its original features; the windows are barred, the sliding metal doors are locked by attendants, and comfort items and amenities
barely exist. Although this might not be your picture of a home, Hogar San Pablo is a home for 22 boys.
Hogar San Pablo is a therapeutic home for boys between 8 and 18 years old. Some boys have lived in institutions for their whole lives and others just a while since their families can’t take care of them anymore. Although staff salaries were 3 months behind,
personnel still came to work day in day out – revealing evidence of the passion that the home instills in those who experience Hogar San Pablo. They are running out of resources and it is hard for them to make ends meet, especially to afford rent and rates.
Most of the time the quality of meals depends on the donations received. Boys often miss school due to lack of efficient follow-up, lack of motivation or there is just no one available to take them to school.
The organization dreams of providing boys with a safe and constructive home, but harsh realities place many obstacles in its path. At this moment, the Hogar is going through a reorganization phase, with a new leading team; there are a lot
of good changes going on but they are still far from being an efficient Home. Your help can make it go ahead.
Our Goal
What we want to do is help them. Help to pay bills, help to get sufficient supervisors and make sure that they get paid, buy healthy food as fruit and vegetables, offer activities for kids to have fun so that they can have childhood experiences.
To help boys become independent, responsible and ready for the life after their stay at Hogar San Pablo.
Who We Are
We are a group of international volunteers who came to Buenos Aires to improve the quality of lives of others. We have become connected to Hogar San Pablo and are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of the boys who live
there. We hope that you will share our belief that these boys deserve better lives. With your generous donations we will attempt to provide them with the home that they were not fortunate enough to have right now.
So.. Are you going to help us as well?
