What is hemp and what makes it so important?
There is no doubt that hemp can save the world. Sustainable fuel for cars, biodegradable plastics, clothing, eco-friendly building materials for homes, medicine, high protein food sources, treeless paper and much more can be made from this sustainable CO2
gobbling miracle plant. Hemp is easy to grow and does not require pesticides or chemicals to protect it from insects, animals or the elements. Hemp grows so densely and easily that it naturally prevents the introduction of harmful weeds, and can be grown organically
in over 80% of the Earth's climates. Hemp plants also develop extremely fast and can fully mature in just 3-4 months. Trees, which we utilize for almost all paper products in the U.S. take decades to mature.
So why is hemp illegal? Because propaganda was used to make people think that hemp and marijuana are one in the same when they are in fact very different. Marijuana is the female species of the cannabis plant and has a concentration of THC that provides
the "high" that recreational drug users are seeking. Hemp however, is the male species of the cannabis plant and has a minute level of THC that cannot make a person feel high after consumption. In fact, if male hemp plants are grown too close to female marijuana
plants fertilization will occur resulting in a sharp decline of THC content in the marijuana plants. Thus, making it impossible to successfully hide marijuana in hemp crops. Hemp is not a drug, but it does pose a major threat to competing industries such as
"Big Oil" which led to its prohibition and classification as a drug in the 1920s. If hemp were legalized it would provide an economic boom for the U.S. and a hemp based economy would allow us to utilize clean energy to heat our homes and power our vehicles.
We could potentially reverse climate change and gradually rid the world of toxic products that take thousands of years to decompose. The seeds produced from hemp plants are also a high protein food source rich in omega 3s. Imagine if the byproduct from gas
for your car was a high protein super food! We could feed a lot of people with that kind of output.
The Future hemp can create-
If we succeed and hemp is made legal in the U.S. we will no longer have any reason to fight wars for natural resources because we will be able to produce all the resources we need domestically.
With zero carbon footprint homes made of "hempcrete" and other hemp materials, along with biodegradable plastics and clean sustainable
fuel for cars, talk of climate change will be a thing of the past. Because hemp seeds are a high protein health food we could also use the abundance of this new food source to help feed the world's hungry!
How you can help-
Hemp is not a drug. It has no capacity to negatively affect society but it can revolutionize and improve our way of life. Hemp can save the world, but first we must stand against the corruption and senseless prohibition of this miracle plant. The richest
1% of this country are profiting from the petro-chemical quagmire at the cost of citizens lives and the sustainability of our environment on Mother Earth. This quagmire can be solved by hemp products. Sign
our petition to legalize hemp, contribute to our campaign and help spread awareness by getting yourself a high quality "Hemp can save the World" shirt that benefits Vote Hemp with a donation of 10% of profits! It's time to take the future into our own hands.
Together we can make a big difference.
