Support a exciting and new waste to energy technology
Energy Farmers Australia is a 3 year old company based in Geraldton Western Australia focused on developing bioenergy and waste to energy projects.
We have developed a new technology that will convert organic wastes (such as wheat straw, manures, green waste and wood chips) into heat and power using pyrolysis.
Pyrolysis is a process where organic material is heated in the absence of oxygen to produce energy. A by-product is biochar, a nutrient rich, high carbon material that has many uses including being used as a soil conditioner/fertiliser.
Prototype
We have developed a prototype of this technology in order to test the process for the amount of energy and quality of biochar the system can produce.
The prototype is the first kiln of its kind in Australia and was featured in the Australian newspaper.
Mobile kiln burns the stubble left over after wheat or other
crops are harvested.
The prototype is mobile so we can transport and we plan to travel around WA to demonstrate the process to range of different audiences in 2014.
Scaling up for global application
We aim to scale up this prototype and apply it to a range of different projects starting with Chandala Poultry farm in Gingin, Western Australia. Chandala will process their manure waste stream into electricity to power their farming operation.
Our eye is on the future and the potential to roll this technology across Australia and internationally.
The funding need
The prototype works well but we need to make a few engineering modifications to improve efficiency and operation.

Become a sponsor
Being a start-up, it’s not easy to raise money. We have invested a lot of resources into the prototype and have reached a point where we are constrained financially.
We are looking for sponsors (businesses and individuals) who like our idea and would like to support us.
A $1000 pledge will make you a “Legend Sponsor”. Your name/business will go on our “Legends Board” which will be permanently fixed to the prototype which will be traveling around Western Australia in 2014 at field days and trade
exhibitions.
You can also have the option of being acknowledged on our website or our Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook pages.
Please show your support and become involved with a growing business with global aspirations.
