Emma’s wish for a Pomeranian Puppy by Make-A-Wish® Australia
Emma is an amazing 6 year old girl who is living with cancer. Nearly a year ago Emma’s family received the devastating news that their precious little girl has leukaemia.
Emma’s family were beside themselves and big brother AJ fell to pieces.
The thought of losing his little sister was the hardest thing AJ has ever been through. He had to watch Emma struggle through weeks of chemotherapy, countless days of hospital appointments and months of sickness, and the whole time not knowing whether she
would survive.
Emma’s family are trying to stay positive, even though their hearts break seeing their precious Emma sick and in pain.
Please help bring something positive into this family’s life by granting Emma’s wish for a Pomeranian Puppy.
Throughout Emma’s journey she has fallen in love with dogs. Emma was given a stuffed toy puppy which she takes everywhere, especially when she goes to hospital.
Mum Anne says, “I think the comfort from an animal has become more of a security blanket for her. Emma just wants something to enjoy and love and something that’s not going to go anywhere”.
To Emma, a real life puppy would mean companionship and strength to get her through the tough times.
You can bring strength and hope to Emma and her family by supporting this wonderful wish.
Emma still has a long battle ahead of her. Emma will have to endure chemotherapy for another 15 months.
Mum Anne says, “sometimes things get too overwhelming and I start thinking about the effects the treatment will have on Emma in years to come, but I can’t worry about what’s going to happen in 5 years time because if she doesn’t do the chemo I may not have
a child at all”.
Remaining positive and trying to enjoy life is often a struggle when you have to watch your child go through such a traumatic time, but the thought of getting a new puppy makes Emma smile.
The new edition to the family will not only bring Emma joy when she needs it the most but will keep her company and help her through the difficult times ahead.
All this family wants is to see Emma happy again and they would do anything to make that happen but they need your help.
Please help us give a life-long companion to this beautiful girl and give this family the hope and strength they need right now and for years to come.
