There is a global shortage of midwives. It's estimated that the US alone will need 25,000 new midwives by the year 2020. Currently there aren't enough programs in existence to train even a portion of that number. The Community School of Midwifery is about
to begin the second year of a midwifery education program that is evidence-based, holistic, comprehensive and sustainable. It's a timely solution to the pressing problem and we are working to take our model to other communities along with a clinical component
that will ensure midwives across the nation get the best training possible.
