Millions of people’s lives have been destroyed by a typhoon in the Philippines and they urgently need your help.
The situation is total devastation. There is no clean water, no electricity and very little food or shelter. Help is critically needed.
In the past week, 13 million people have been affected by Typhoon Haiyan – the strongest storm ever – after it ripped through the Philippines. The disaster has left thousands of people dead and hundreds of thousands struggling to survive. Families are huddled
together in makeshift shelters clinging together for life.
It is clear the number of people in desperate need is set to rise significantly.
Thousands of people in rural areas sit waiting for those in cities to help them – unaware that those cities have also been flattened. In some remote areas, no aid has yet been distributed.
The rebuilding effort starts now, and it's crucial that vulnerable people such as women and young children are not forgotten, but given their own voices in the recovery.
