About This Project

Do you believe that Buddhism can change the world?

We do. With compassion and wisdom. One person at a time.

The “Turning Points” project returns to the purity of storytelling.

In this project, ordinary people share how their lives have ‘turned’ from fear to hope using the Buddha's teachings.

These stories will be presented at large public festivals where we have been generously provided marquee space. The festivals are held at prominent locations across Australia including Darling Harbour, Sydney and Federation Square, Melbourne.

100% of funds will go towards creative design and presentation. With further funds, we aim to continue the platform for more people to share their stories internationally via webpages and other suitable events.

Our team is made up completely of volunteers and has a track record of successful innovation since 2012. We are always exploring new mediums to reach as many people as we can because we know different people respond to different ways of communicating. Examples of past creative works include:

- Buddhist Boardgames

- BBEP Android and iOS Apps

- Mindful Check-In App (over 2500 downloads)

- Cartoons and videos (>10,000 views on youtube)

- Buddhist Artworks

Use Of Funds

$5,000 Tipping Point Goal

- Design and Presentation of stories in prominent physical spaces across Australia (as outlined above)

- Creation of a professional video documentary of the "best" stories for distribution

- Digital marketing and distribution


$10,000 Stretch Goal

- Creation of a book of "Turning Points: Stories of Humanistic Buddhism" for distribution

- Support to continue the collection and production of stories

- Supporting this innovative team's continued production of Buddhist materials to share the Dharma in new ways including Boardgames, Apps and Artworks.

Bring your family and friends for an exclusive tour around the Buddha's Birthday Festival, Sydney where you will meet the Turning Points Team and see how the project has unfolded. Visit us at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour on the Saturday 6 May to Sunday 7 May from 9am to 5pm where you will be personally shown the major sites of the festival.
