The Treehouse Solution project, "Kids exploring, creating, building on imagination" will be a website built to not only coordinate and organize the available resources for kids and families,
but will go “outside the box” to provide innovative and currently unavailable or inadequate programs and services. Many kid's programs center around dancing or jumping or traditional drawing or art classes with no real element for imagination or creativity.
Some of the programs are structured such that they can't work with children who have any limitations or special needs.
Our project will provide with access to a wide array of programming designed to encourage and inspire the “curiosity factor" through artistic, creative, and scientific expression. This may
include but is not limited to exploring a child's music, drawing, reading, writing, science interests, as well as helping them to understand and find meaningful ways to “give back” and help others.
The programming will be both nationwide and local. We will begin with mostly local on-site programming.
The key word here is exploring, as the goal is not to program a child to fit the conventional wisdom of “how to” do anything, but to help each child explore their inner creativity and critical
thinking abilities and based on their developmental level, express themselves as an individual. Every child, no matter what their challenge, will be accommodated.
Partnering with not only experts and professionals in the fields of child development, education, social services, health and nutrition, psychology, juvenile justice, business, special needs,
artists, etc, we will tap into the creative programming ideas that exist across the nation.
Programs for example that not only help children learn to handle a ball, but allow them to get creative and explore the circle, the round shape, and what other things in the world have that
shape and how it relates to math, science, etc. This type of program taps into the child's creative process and incorporates physical activity, critical thinking skills, imagination, making choices, and nature.
As part of another program, one of our experts in the nutrition field will help children learn to plant and grow their own vegetables, create recipes, and learn to actually make fun food
that is healthy and tasty, too.
The website will be interactive and allow kids and caregivers to post creative ideas, photos, projects, blogs. One of the goals once developed will be to provide creative programming for
Child Care Centers, Preschools, Elementary Schools and Home School Groups,as well as the individual and community wide programs, both online and in person.
Our first task will be developing the comprehensive resource directory for parents. Then based on the gaps and the need and interest from feedback of parents, begin to implement our programs.
The menu of programming will continue to grow as new ideas are discovered. The important aspect of this website is it will be timely, up to date and always on the cutting age of creative
ideas and resources for parents and kids of all ages.
