I am looking to raise £13,000 to fund 6 trips in 2016. These trips will provide 6 small charities working in Africa and Asia with thousands of images and video content that will transform the way they get attention, raise awareness and increase their funding.
The charities that I support haven’t many resources of their own; yet they help restore dignity, purpose and hope to people who can then sustain livelihoods, gain education and provide futures for their communities.
I am not paid for my time, work, accommodation or travel and so to continue providing visual resources, help and assistance to small charities across Africa and Asia I am looking for your help to make it happen.
By investing in this project you can help support charities that don’t have the resources, funds or media support of the big charities. Small charities that have huge hearts to see poverty stricken communities, full of incredible people, changed for good.
MY STORY
In the last 6 years I have made 25 trips to East Africa and Asia, flown the equivalent of 9 times round the world, spent more than 8 months abroad documenting the work of 10 small charities and gifted over 40,000 photos to those charities.
I have photographed and filmed in Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, India and Sri Lanka, as well as the UK.
A year ago I asked for help to continue my work. I told my story to the world and so many people supported my crowdfunding campaign. They invested £10,000. And what a difference it made! 5 trips, 7 charities and 40,000 photos. One charity said my photos had helped them increase their microfinance lending by 5 times. That’s incredible! Here are some of the photos from the trips.
HOW IT WORKS
I work with UK and International charities to help communities in some of the poorest countries in the world. By providing high quality photography and film footage I am able to visually share the stories of people in these communities and bring the work of the charities to life.
I develop iconic photographs and films that capture the essence of the communities and projects I visit. These visual images are gifted to the charities and used in marketing, communications and fundraising to prove that the work the charities are doing is changing and saving thousands of lives.
Visual stories help charities be accountable to donors and stakeholders to show the effects that their giving is having, providing context, documenting incredible stories of changed lives and ultimately raise more money for the charities.

ABOUT ME
My name is Adam. I live in St Albans near London in the UK. I work as a designer and photographer but my real passion is photography. I just absolutely love taking photos. Especially photos that can make a real difference.
This year I will begin to mentor a photographer in Malawi with the vision of being able to build a wider team of people that can help more charities. To that end, I have formed Taking Pictures, Changing Lives, a community interest company. The scope for TPCL is both huge and exciting. Taking on board a small team of like minded people, TPCL has the ability to better document the stories and lives of the people who are being helped by these charities to raise more awareness and sustainable funds for those in vulnerable communities.
