We are creating Musaic--an online platform where the artist and fans will meet at a common place which will behave similar to a social network, but it would also allow for many other features like: allowing artists to sell their music, have constant communication
with their fan base, show their music by uploading mp3 files, create and share events, gigs, concerts to their fans, be able to be promoted based on different categories, one of them being "quality work."
Musaic will be for the independent artist (the underdog, that garage band, the little girl with the acoustic guitar) that wants to have total control of their music and the way they distribute and share it. Furthermore, Musaic will be the place where fans
to go who are tired of the same 30 songs in the radio and are ready to open their eyes and hears to experience and discover new music. Musaic will facilitate this by having top rated charts and a rating system, where bands with the top scores will be displayed
and promoted free for everyone in the world to listen to. In addition, Musaic will allow artists and bands to do the transaction, if the artist decides to sell their songs, without charging any commission. Artists will be able to create events and also promote
their shows or new releases.
We hope that this will revolutionize the way the music industry works today. We believe that it's time to shift to a better future; Where a good artist with quality work and songs is able to make a living, without having to sell their souls. Why does it have
to be Millions or nothing? Not anymore, not with Musaic.
Y/Our Vision: How “We” are Developing the Future of Music
The reason why Musaic is so important for everyone that likes or loves music is because it allows and provides free will to the creative source--the artist--without having to worry about being discovered by an already established artist or "signed" by a
record label. It's hard to believe that in this modern age we have as the only massive media of distribution public radio which plays the same 30 songs all day, when there are millions of other songs by great artists.
On the other hand, the music industry is shifting to a more digital way of distribution. This is very fortunate to upcoming artists. Why would the artist agree to give away their art/music/songs for a fraction of what the value is?
I believe this is also the origin of illegal downloading. Users or "fans" feel disconnected with the artists. They see a CD and they wonder how much of those $15 really goes to the artist. With the tool of the internet this can we changed and we hope to create
a new consciousness where the "fan" will feel proud of purchasing a song (if the artist chooses to sell it) knowing that 100% of the money goes directly to the artist.
