The mission of MRU is to inspire and model sustainable life skills through the engagement and hands on experiences for youth and adults. We started this en-devour in 2005 in New Jersey in response to grandparents raising grandchildren(due to drugs, gangs or prison), generational poverty within families of minorities, youth aging out of foster care/homeless youth, young people graduating college with huge student debt unable to get decent paying jobs. Since that time we have relocated to Monroe County Pennsylvania and continued to focus on Mentoring; Life Skills, and Housing but shifted toward an direct focus on inspiration and targeted experience as the best tools of motivation.
The cost to operate our Affordable Housing program for one year is $219,100 you can help us by a donation of any amount but, we would like a new permanent location for our organization. This may cost approximately 2 million and includes the cost of land, building transitional housing and a youth resort.
Thank you for your support in advance.
