Elephant & Calf print by Jacha Potgieter
$200.00

We'll send you this beautiful elephant and calf photograph which was taken at Dzanga Bai in the Central African Republic. Jacha says that there was so much going on at the Bai at this time that it was a pleasure to take photos there!

Comes in A2 size, unframed.

Additional shipping at buyer’s expense.

Artist Jacha Potgieter's work is often much larger than life and features a pair of eyes looking directly back at the viewer, turning the tables on the idea of viewing art, as you get a sense of the art viewing you. One of his chief influences comes from his passion for conservation. Time spent in Borneo in 2008 and Cameroon in 2010, provided a signal spur to his work. His paintings of apes have a tenderness and power to them that is compelling. That love of animals is a key thread to Jacha's work, as is, he says, his relationship with the world and the people within it. Much of his oeuvre makes social comment; some is challenging to its viewers. Jacha has built his international reputation around his love and commitment of animals and their environments.

We'll send you this stunning gorilla photograph was taken in the Dzanga Sangha National Park in the Central African Republic. It was a particularly hard day of photography, a long trek through tough terrain, this shot is the only good shot from that day and it was just by chance Jacha caught it. The gorilla was eating termites, a bird flew over and caught their attention and as they looked up Jacha managed to capture the moment. A wonderful shot!
