$2,000 Tipping Point Goal

The first lesson of pe@ce is that it begins with the individual, but that it is sustained by community. The Pe@cemaker Coalition needs your support--your humanity--to help give peace life and make it a reality. 


The Tipping Point Goal of $2000 will help launch the Pe@cemaker Coalition in several ways:


--Nonprofit Startup Costs for 501c3 status. ($500 for filing paperwork,
$400 for legal counsel)


--Website design/operational cost basics. ($1100)


Any money raised beyond the Tipping Point goal will be used in the following ways:


--Additional website development used for promotion of campaigns and nonprofit, blogging, development updates, newsletter, a chat forum on pe@ce inviting community ideas and participation, and as a resource for nonprofits providing curriculum ideas for implementing
pe@ce into their programs. ($2280)


 --Travel expenses for researching street art in an art commune in Berlin ($1356), creating, and implementing the curriculum for the "Art of Pe@ce" program (art supplies $1320).


--Documentary production of the nonprofit start-up and a video of the research, exploring how peace is illustrated through artists, dancers, street performers and singers. This field work will be contrasted against a survey asking people what peace is to
them. ($1044)


This initial "educreation" program will employ the theory that if pe@ce is to exist in our realities it will be illustrated through the imaginations of the people, those who channel their frustration into works of art, and open up the dialogue for pe@ce.
Most "peace through art" programs focus on children channeling emotional trauma through art. This program is designed for children of all ages and will transform nonviolent communication tactics (proposed by Marshall Rosenberg) into works of art using art
as a way to communicate emotion and teaching participants how to make peace through art. The research on the Art of Peace will be continued in the artists communes in Berlin. These art classes will be infused with the discourse of nonviolence, educating pe@ce
along with practicing different styles of making art (first through street art, painting, sculpting, then through theater, creative writing, and music).
