The Playground of Positive Potentiality is a virtual play-acting environment where we use script templates, games, tools and more to bring our individual, collective, and collaborative dreams alive in a crowd-sourced comedy about sustainability, conservation,
self-reliance, and preparedness.
The initial gaming series is called Improve The Scene, and it invites (and challenges) players to ACT, reACT, or reENACT scenes from the 'lead' plug-and-play script IF they have something of value to add. Scenes can be submitted just for fun, or competitively,
which means they are subject to peer-voting and evaluation against the ’lead’ scene. The lead scenes are written by a team of experts or expert wanna-bes, and continuous competition for top vote-getter for each scene is designed to keep the bar high and innovation
fast.
There are very few artistic restrictions for scenes created and 'played', but the positive-centric Playground rules require us to set aside our differences long enough to collaborate and play-act together to produce an edutaining resource of practical knowledge.
Scenes played are organized, indexed, archived, and made available (per terms set by the scene owner/creator) for reuse, remix and repurposing by others. Our collective library of individually-submitted and interchangeable parts and 'transition scenes'
- for switching topic and/or location - create an ever-updating we-source resource for our use, edutainment, and enterprise.
This Crowdfunding campaign will allow me to collaboratively improve and complete the pilot script, platform protocols and rules of engagement, and the initial foundation for the we-source resource library of content played, aka ‘Amuse We Can Use’.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this endeavor. I hope you will play along and improve the scene as much as possible.
$50,000 Tipping Point Goal
Use of Funds Raised on StartSomeGood.com
This Crowdfunding campaign will allow me to collaboratively improve and complete: The pilot script; first ‘play’ scripts
in the series; platform protocols; and the foundation of a resource library of content played, aka ‘Amuse We Can Use’.
These items (explained below) provide everything we need to begin play on the most basic level. I have a solid
storyline and script that can be improved by others to optimize scene-exchange functionality, participation opportunities, humor, and the overall quality of entertainment and education. I will hire administrative support so that I can begin working immediately
with a development team of writers, researchers, consultants, etc. I have low overhead costs, so funds will be directed to hiring help and expertise.
After reaching my Tipping Point goal of $50K, I anticipate that it will take
approximately five months to collaboratively (see above) complete:
1)
The ‘lead’ story’s pilot script – the
background story about the history, characters, layout, and transformation of our soon-to-be-shared, common “hometown”;
2)
Playground guidelines, platform protocols,
kits, rules, tools, and keys to a toy box that is full of Playground goodies and production props; and
3)
‘Transition Scene Art Library’ – a collection
of transition scenes that will be created and submitted by our ‘Founding Funders’ pre-launch, and made available for use when play begins.
4) We-source Resource – guides to indexing, archiving, getting the most exposure for the player-submitted scenes. Players own and maintain parts played, sharing them subject to terms
or not.
When I reach my Total Funding Goal
of $150K, I will initiate production of additional expisode scripts, so players will have a wider variety of scene re-enactment opportunities. These funds will be
used to hire additional support services for media integration, legal, accounting, marketing and data management.
Funds Raised in Excess of the Total Funding Goal may be applied to improve
the quality of the materials and/or to expedite the launch of play (by hiring more staff and support services).
Let's pursue positive potentiality, together.
We only need a story and art to start.
