Due to the civil war in Syria millions of people have fled their homes. To date around 2.8 million refugees have sought shelter and protection in the neighbouring countries – Jordan, Libya, Turkey, Iraq and Egypt.
For the time being it doesn’t look likely that the situation in Syria will change for the better soon, which means that people are still fleeing the country on daily basis. UNHCR expects a refugee population of over 4 million by the end
of the 2014.
We are all witnessing one of the largest refugee exoduses of our time and we all have to do more in the name of humanity and human rights to help those in need!
For a long time I have tried to find a job in the Syrian Refugee Response, because I cannot just sit at home anymore and watch this crisis happening on the news, while even realizing that the media has already turned its back to cover
other stories.
I will donate my workforce, skills, ideas and time to the Syrian Refugee Response – and for that I need your help!
I want to give a helping hand where needed on the ground; I want to talk with people; I want to support children, women and men, who were forced to leave their home due to
the war; I want to strengthen their voice and advocate their rights in the long run!
I have not been successful yet in finding a job, but I found the
Turkish Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants, who offered me the great opportunity to work with their team in
Gaziantep/Turkey for three months this summer.
This association has just opened an multi-service rehabilitation centre in Gaziantep, which is a city 50 km away from the Syrian border, where the number of refugees is growing on daily basis. This centre provides medical and psychological
advice, organizes language classes and social activities and tries to meet at least some of the needs of those refugees who do not live in refugee camps.
I am asking YOU to support ME and through me to support the HUMANITARIAN AID FOR SYRIAN REFUGEES in TURKEY!
Please SHARE my project with your network of people!
Please DONATE and help me to help those in need!
I will share my experiences with all of my supporters, inform you, keep you updated, bring the focus back to the situation of Syrian refugees today!
