What exactly is repatriation?
Our Story
We are the Descendants of Africa Repatriation Movement. Visit Our Facebook page! & Twitter We
are a collective of various repatriation groups. Our members have made it a mission and goal to return to the countries of our ancestral origin on the continent of Africa.
Many of us utilize DNA testing to discover our ancestral backgrounds to begin the journey towards re-establishing our lost cultural ties and geneaology to a specific African country in which we plan to
eventually repatriate.
Our various groups members range from those who have already repatriated and currently live on the continent to those who have been saving and planning to go back to Africa for many years, to those who are newly becoming aquainted with the idea of repatriation
Our Project
This is what our campaign is about. We want to bring history full circle.
Together, with your support, we can raise the funds to be able to help us retrace our geneological origins and obtain the means to repatriate back to Africa. This campaign will allow the descendants of enslaved Africans to finally be able to rediscover
our lost heritage and take steps toward healing the damage the loss of cultural heritage has inflicted upon generations upon generations of African people.
We want to reverse this map! There are members of our group who are more than prepared and excited to finally return home but will require a strong support system and financial assistance to help them fully relocate.
Why It Matters
Of all the ethnic groups who voluntarily immigrated to America, we are a group that did not willingly immigrate to the European colonies. Our ancestors who were brought in captivity, were not allowed to retain their culture, values, traditions, languages, stories,
names, essentially their identity. They were restricted from economically benefitting from their ideas, inventions and intellectual property. They were even denied their humanity. As harsh as the physical conditions were that our
ancestors labored under, it was our cultural heritage that was completely lost to which the effects are still felt many generations later. These are losses no possible amount of money or objects can replace. They were priceless!
Throughout history, over time, America has made great strides in correcting the inequalities among it's citizens, although there is much more work to do.
Unfortunately, we can never turn back the hands of time, but what we can do is work together to correct the lack of identity and cultural void by reconnecting to the rich heritage that once belonged to our ancestors, It is in our
power to learn about, value and preserve the cultural legacy of our ancestors through ourselves.
Many of our members are eager to return to the lands of our ancestors. DNA testing now makes it possible for us to discover the countries in Africa from which the greatest percentages of our genetic information originates
How YOU can help!
Your contribution will help individuals and families seeking to return to Africa to connect to the resources that will enable them to immigrate back to Africa safely through a network of knowledgeable staff and volunteers who will guide them through
the process of repatriation.
Our members come to us with great hopes of self-discovery, a desire to contribute, uplift, integrate and assimilate into the countries of their ancestral background!

Back to Africa? For some African-Americans, the answer is yes
The African Americans in our group who return to the motherland go for various reasons, but because we are also very interconnected with native African people, we recieve a wealth of knowledge in regards to how to successfully integrate ourselves within the
various cultural societies. It is a general desire among our group to return to our homeland with attitudes of respect toward the existing culture and a goal of fully assimilating into the society.
For many of our members this transition means economic freedom and independence as well as reconnecting with our roots!
For Many African Americans, Africa Means Opportunity!
"The U.S.-Africa Summit, the largest ever contingent of African heads-of-State assembled in Washington, D.C., wrapped last week.
It was the first time the United States ever hosted a summit of that magnitude for representatives from Africa.
Africa isn’t rising, the continent has risen. According to a White House official, six of the 10 fastest growing economies in the world are African. But it seems African American businessmen and entrepreneurs missed the memo
and now the race is on to make sure they have a place at the table before all the major seats are taken."(Exclusive)
