Who we are
For Her Freedom is an online marketplace of survivor made goods thoughtfully curated to focus on the narrative of social justice and beautifully made products. Our heart is for everyone to be able to connect and contribute. This is a simple, yet meaningful
way to provide restoration and integrity to women, in order for them to transition from surviving into thriving. Every purchase has a purpose and a story. Each month you’ll receive a beautiful gift with a story connecting you to the people and organizations
that you are directly supporting and impacting.
Why
12-14 years old is the average age of entry into human trafficking here in the US. Even if you don’t read further, let yourself be responsible for that awareness alone. But
now that you know, you can choose to step into the story, you can choose to fight for the (estimated 3-500,000 in the US, 27 million worldwide) women and children affected by this criminal industry.
“Human trafficking is a form of modern slavery where people profit from the control and exploitation of others.” (Polaris Project) Modern means TODAY. This makes you a modern-day abolitionist.
As awareness about human trafficking grows, so many still believe that it is confined to the international world of mail order brides and brothels in Thailand and India. Unfortunately, that is just not the case. It happens here at home, in
every large city, under our noses and on the internet via websites like Backpage.com and Craigslist. Women and children are working the streets. They are held captive in basements and back rooms. They are manipulated by physical and mental abuse, coerced through
drugs and lies.
How can this happen in the US? Read more

Our Role
There are many great organizations fighting human trafficking and raising awareness. While we believe awareness and fighting on the front lines is crucial, For Her Freedom wants to focus on an ECONOMIC SOLUTION and CELEBRATION of women coming out of this
industry - those that are taking the challenging journey of recovery and regaining dignity through meaningful employment. And we want to connect YOU with that solution and celebration with a monthly subscription of goodness made by these women. This will create
an even more sustainable foundation of support for the businesses that employ survivors.
Many survivors of human trafficking have criminal records due to drug use, solicitation charges and theft, crimes surrounding a life on the streets. A criminal record makes getting a job very difficult, once survivors are ready to re-enter
to workforce. For Her Freedom supports businesses started solely for the purpose of employing survivors of human trafficking and giving them the chance for financial self-sufficiency and sustainability.
For Her Freedom is an invitation to step into the story of survival. An opportunity to step into a solution.
As law enforcement continues to make a concerted effort and legislation progresses, it is largely up to businesses to give opportunity on the other side of survival. For Her Freedom is looking to create a larger, consistent customer base
for these businesses to sell their products and to empower survivors to provide for themselves. We want to open you up to a marketplace of products with a huge purpose in our society.
FHF represents collaboration amongst small businesses and social enterprises that are striving to make a difference.
Human trafficking is a horrible reality in our country and you can do something to help fight to end modern day slavery and restore survivors.
