Ira believes equality should be for all, no matter who we are and where we live, we should always help each other. She founded Kayu&Co. in 2021 with the hope that she can help remote artisans’ communities in preserving their cultural heritage and nature. Kayu&Co. is a sustainable collaboration which builds capacity, reduces landfill waste and enables Indonesians to have employment by producing artisan natural products for the International market. Kayu means wood and Co. stands for community. They work together with village artisan communities across Indonesia to design and produce a range of wooden homeware products, such as tableware and brushes. Their products are produced using the nature of circularity – recycle and upcycle – nothing goes to waste!
