Our vision:To love all people without judgement or expectation. Our goal is to provide a safe place of common ground, because we believe every person is a worthy and valuable creation of a kind and loving God. We seek to foster restoration in the Cedar Grove neighborhood of Shreveport, Louisiana by living as neighbors and recognizing the inherent worth of each individual.
Problem:Unreliable transportation. One of our donated vans is out of operation leaving us with one van and the private vehicles of our staff to shuttle 50 plus children from school and to and from daily basketball practice and games. This is times consuming and takes away valuable tutoring time from the kids.
Solution: Our dream is to have two new-ish 15 passenger vans to unburden our volunteers.
Budget: A well maintained used van with air-conditioning (a must in the Louisiana heat) runs anywhere from $8,000-$10,000.
