Who Are We:
SevGen is a community development charity that exists to celebrate the full, true and creative self within a social enterprise context for the benefit of the collective. Our experience is that this enables us to find our soulful and purposeful role in community. We have been doing this successfully now for 8 years. You can look us up on facebook or instagram

Why are we doing this:
The WHY we are doing this has many layers, so we thought we'd use the 5 WHYS technique to share our deep intention for the Custom Cup project.
So why are we doing this?
1. To have a custom cup for Deadly Espresso... why?
2. To give just one example of the wonderful outcomes that are achieved in the SevGen work... why?
3. Because we want you to love SevGen and support our work particularly through this campaign at the moment... why?
4. Because we believe this custom cup artefact is the most amazing tool to raise awareness of things that are important to us... Here are just a few that the team have come up with:
- acknowledgement of Kabi Kabi country, the Kabi Kabi people and their elders and respected people past, present and emerging.
- creating a caring community and to recognise the importance of the stewardship of the Indigenous people of this land, and to grow the awareness through the art created by a traditional owner of the land.
- to share language 'MIBIR' is Kabi Kabi word for turtle:
Artist Shauna Hill's statement: "Mibir- The turtle represents marine life, the wavy lines represent the waterways, the people sitting are mankind, and the footprints indicate the low impact we are committed to strive for....I am happy to be part of the SevGen team and making a difference through my work and art".
- to share the artwork which is a representation of the significance of the ecological world in which we are all a part of and the need to protect what we have. We should all see ourselves as stewards of the land and harness Indigenous ways of thinking in our daily activities (including when drinking coffee).
- to recognise the richness of Aboriginal culture. In turn we hope that this will ignite further recognition of Aboriginal culture and history within our community.
...why?
5. Because we want to show others that it can be done.

What are we doing in this project:
We have combined a love for community with our love for coffee through using our beautifully designed biodegradable custom cup as our canvas, with Deadly Espresso as the gallery it will hang (out) in.
This flows into our festivals and events based "Re-up Cup Deposit" initiative, whereby the cups will have a new purpose holding native bee attracting seedlings, as part of our bushfire response project: The Pollinator Project. Nothing is ever on its own in SevGen!
AND WE NEED YOUR PLEDGE TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
Please make a pledge and choose your reward level from the list on the right hand side panel.
