What's this about?
It's time to show some appreciation to the migrant workers in Singapore. To put a smile to their faces.
Let's re-connect them with their families back home!
I intend to follow the lives of migrant workers and photograph them as they live their daily lives. Photograph their living conditions, working conditions, the friends they made here, the hang outs they go to on their off days, etc. With these photographs
and some well-wishes, I will fly over to their families to show them how their loved one is doing in Singapore. I will then do the same thing with the family, and bring those photographs back to Singapore.
I am currently raising funds to pay for my air ticket, accommodation, transport and expenses while I am over there. It will not be easy locating their families especially if they do not live within the city, but I am definitely going to make it happen.
How you can help?
1) I need contacts!
Know of any migrant workers who have not been in contact with their families? Maybe it's because they have no money to go back regularly to see them. Maybe it's because where they come from, their families do not have internet connection (or one with decent
speed). It can be for any reasons that they want to re-connect with home! As long as they are agreeable to being photographed!
2) I need money!
To pay for the air tickets, the transportation within the country, the accommodation, any other necessary expenses. I guarantee that none of the money I get will be used for my own comforts.
3) Share this project with your friends!
In a nutshell...
1) Using photographs to show the families of migrant workers how they are doing, and vice versa.
2) The funds will be used for air tickets, transportation, accommodation and necessary expenses. None will be used for my own comforts.
3) I need contacts of Migrant Workers!
