Strength, courage, passion over a cup of tea?
These are just a few words to describe some of the seniors we interviewed over the past year. We have looked beyond AGE and realised everyone has a life story to share.Celebrate Living History’s vision is to create
a nation-wide student internship program which will be an opportunity for generations to cherish stories, connect, inspire and develop a legacy for the future. With an emphasis on community and education this internship program will encourage students and
seniors to break down stereotypes, develop friendships and learn from each other.
Celebrate Living History is creating a legacy for the future
Our purpose is to connect with education providers and community groups to create a nation -wide internship program, which will value stories about history, community and culture for future generations.
We want to offer real life experience for students to be involved in exhibitions, publications and the making of a community enterprise.
Our founder has personally spoken and interviewed seniors in community groups for the very FIRST Celebrate Living History of Frankston exhibition.
She also formed the Celebrate Living History magazine which showcased inspirational stories of seniors in Australia with assistance from Batdesign, students and the public.
We believe initiative and passion is in every student, our founder wants to nurture this sprit and lead the way to more exhibitions featuring senior artwork, photographs, written stories and digital media.
Our big picture is to conduct annual exhibitions to celebrate seniors around Australia, with plans to hold the next Senior Star gathering on the Gold Coast.
We also want to hold monthly Senior and Junior Star events which will involve generations gathering together to share stories, knowledge and a sense of community spirit.
Most of all we want to make seniors feel like stars, we believe everyone has a legacy to leave behind.
