Movement and play have been instrumental in helping me learn more about my health, myself and the way I work. I have drawn on my background as an engineering project manager, facilitator, physical performer and yoga teacher to create some workshops that
have received wonderful feedback in WA.
I would love to bring one of my workshops, "Present, connected, aware: the keys to great to facilitation," to NSW when I visit in October. This workshop uses the art of clown to help facilitators, trainers and educators explore how being more grounded in
their body allows them to better connect with the people they work with.
This campaign will help me pay for venue hire and catering, printing and even sponsor some places for young facilitators. It would also be really great if you could share the
workshop information with your contacts in NSW, particulary those in Sydney and Newcastle which is where I'll be running the workshops.
About the workshop
This workshop is a unique opportunity for facilitators, trainers and educators to develop the aspects to facilitation that differentiate a good facilitator from a really great one: someone who is comfortable with themselves, connected to the group
they are working with, and tuned in to where the discussion needs to go.
Through movement, play and the art of clown we explore how being present in your body helps you better connect with the people you are working with, and how an understanding of theatrical devices like timing and rhythm can help you better manage
the energy in the room and the flow of the day.
We run
Sydney Oct 3 1 - 5.30pm
Newcastle Oct 8 1 - 5pm Tantrum Theatre

My story
In my early 20s I worked as a civil engineer. I was suffering from chronic fatigue. Many others around me were in similar situations.
We didn't seem to be healthy, happy or being making much of a difference to the world.
I became fascinated by how we can look after ourselves and do something of meaning through our work.
At the age of 30, I ran away to the north of England to train full time with a circus school. Through trapeze, clown and acrobatics, I discovered what it was like to really use my body, to find my inner spark and to light up other people.
This chapter rounded out with a University Diploma in Yogic Education from the University of Lille, France. It was all about the physical, social and psychological self-education enabled through the physical practices of yoga.
It was the link that tied movement to healthy work practices.
