After working as a professional
So I thought, what if there was a way to match the stuff from the people who no longer wanted or needed it, to the people who currently really need it? Imagine the potential good these pre-loved items could do for someone else.
And so the social enterprise side of my business, Space To Be, was born.
We have made connections with local Canberra charities, including the YWCA Canberra Housing Support Unit, who let us know what their clients need. And then when we are working with our paying clients to help them declutter their homes, we collect those items on their behalf.
And here lies our challenge. We are currently limited by what can fit in my little Fiat and my lounge room. We need to think much bigger. We need your help to pay for storage and transport of these items so that the charities’ clients get what they need to set up their homes, when they need it and free of charge.
I have done the sums and $10 260 will cover the costs of storage and transport for up to 12 months so we can build our business to be self-sustaining.
How can you help?
#1 Donate
Our rewards are all designed to help people in our community identify items they no longer need that can be used by someone else. Rewards include e-books and online courses, coaching calls to give you personal advice on decluttering and even one-on-one sessions with me. If you don't need our services, feel free to give your sessions to a friend to use, or you could even pay it forward to someone in our community who can't afford to pay for a session themselves.
Not sure if working with a declutterer is for you? Hear what our clients have to say.
#2 Spread the word

Having coffee, drinks or a sausage sizzle with friends? Why not pass the hat around on our behalf? Email us at [email protected] to let us know about your event so we can say a huge thank you.
