Eleven-year-old Brooklyn from Townsville was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at the young age of three. Brooklyn’s cherished wish is to go on a family cruise with waterslides on it, where she can travel across
the open sea like a mermaid, play with her brothers on the waterslides, and just enjoy being a carefree kid. Pledge your support today, and help make Brooklyn’s wish a reality.
Brooklyn’s younger brother, Kael, was also diagnosed with leukaemia. Earlier this year, Kael’s wish to meet his favourite superheroes came true. Their mum, Larissa, was told the odds of having more than one child diagnosed
with this disease is less than one in a billion.
A wish is vital, not nice-to-have, for seriously ill children like Brooklyn.
It helps them through treatment and builds resilience, giving them hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness, and joy from their incredible wish experience.
Townsville volunteers first met with Brooklyn to capture what her cherished wish would be. They presented Brooklyn with her own wish coin, which represents a special promise that Make-A-Wish will grant her a wish.
Despite all she’s gone through, Brooklyn has always remained a lively and optimistic little girl. She’s been so strong – through her own treatment, and her little brother’s cancer battle too.

Every child’s imagination is unique – and so is every wish. Brooklyn’s wish experience is being tailor-made just for her, and Townsville volunteers have been making sure to build up her excitement before she even steps on board
the cruise ship.
As part of this amazing wish anticipation, volunteers organised for Brooklyn to be the very first person to ride the City Slider in Townsville – a huge waterslide through town!
Brooklyn and eight of her friends were treated as VIPs with unlimited sliding, no queuing, and more food and drinks than they could eat in their very own VIP marquee. Brooklyn even had her own crocodile - named Snapper - to
ride the slide on! She told the Townsville volunteers that the City Slider event was the best day of her life.
Brooklyn has had to grow up too quickly – but her wish will give her the chance to be a carefree kid and create joyful memories
The possibility of Brooklyn’s wish coming true is already bringing hope and strength to the family Larissa shares: “Treatment is so intense and the kids miss out on so much. It’s important to have something great to look
forward to as a family. When Brooklyn’s wish is granted, it will be a great bonding experience for all of us.”
We need your help to make Brooklyn’s wish come true,
so she can go on waterslides all day and create some happy memories with her
family.
Brooklyn’s wish will bring her and her family renewed strength to face their ongoing battles. Pledge your support today, and help make Brooklyn’s wish a reality.
