FACT: As of 2016, there are staggering numbers of veterans in the US: 18.5 Million. It is estimated that 6000 veterans have committed suicide each year between 2008-2016, as reported by the "VA National Suicide Data Report 2005-2016."
Helping veterans before a crisis arises is important. Many want the help now, right here in Livingston County, MI.
What is this about?
My mission is to help veterans avoid crisis due to various stress factors by breaking through the barriers that limit them from what they truly want to experience, such as improved health, relationships, money, careers and more. This is accomplished through coaching by me in small groups that are funded by your charitable donations.
To continue this mission, with the help of your generosity, I am applying for 501-(c)(3) status (non-profit). Many of the veterans I have encountered and worked with do not have extra funds to join a coaching group or pay for private sessions out of pocket. I would like to run several groups at NO CHARGE to the veterans and offer private coaching as appropriate to serve these willing brave men and women in my community. Equine Guided Learning is often used to augment the coaching process.
The initial funds will cover the costs of starting this non-profit business, including the application process, marketing, logo design, website creation AND running the first group for eager and ready veterans. I have a waiting list of several veterans in the community who have expressed their desires to get started as soon as possible. Groups are described in the "Goals" section of this campaign.
In addition, a women's veteran group is also in the works. We have a very large population of veterans here in Livingston County. I would love to continue to support them in this unique way.
They are asking for support!
Why am I doing this?
I've been working closely with veterans in my community over the last two years, especially those who have been involved in Veteran's Treatment Court of Livingston County, MI. These are good people who deserve a second chance. I want to help them live better lives based on their expressed desires, wants and wishes.
Veterans who have gone through my program have been significantly impacted in many areas of their lives (see bullets below), including improved emotional and physical well-being, better relationships and more money in the bank. These positive changes have been reported by the veterans themselves, their friends and families. The improvement of their well-being is easily measurable.
Who am I?
I'm a deeply caring and compassionate Registered Nurse turned Certified Professional Coach. I've seen various angles of suffering among veterans and how it affects each one differently from physical pain to emotional and spiritual suffering. Even though this is not therapy, my work is very therapeutic.
I've been coaching people for over 15 years in my private practice and a variety of nursing experience for 20 years. Some of my educational background is Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Oakland University, Registered Nurse currently licensed in Michigan, several certifications in Coaching, Equine Guided Learning (EGL), Energy Psychology and leading Heal Your Life Workshops. In addition, I have earned certifications in CISM or Critical Incident Stress Management and I am an active member of the Livingston County Medical Reserve Corps Response Team.
I see the need and I'm responding with a solution that I have seen work! I've refined my coaching to incorporate all of the best coaching strategies and methods that I have learned over the years. I work with my clients based on their individual needs, meet them where they are and help them overcome their challenges with a customized and personal approach. This is done in group settings or in private individual sessions. My approach is holistic to address as much as possible for maximum benefits.

Praise & Recommendations:
"Prior to working with Mrs. Haas, I was having issues dealing with substantial financial issues. The absolute ease I can talk with Mrs. Haas about subjects made this relationship fruitful. She helped me to set up a financial plan to achieve my financial goals by helping me conquer financial debt I had accrued, which made the biggest difference because that is lowering my stress. Mrs. Haas was a consummate professional and made all of our interactions enjoyable and stress-free, allowing me to open up more regarding my financial crisis." - Jordan K., Hartland, MI
"I was dealing with a lot of stress from the army and I always felt like work was stressing me out. Both of those have changed as Jill gave me the tools to be able to lift myself up! I never thought I could get over those overwhelming feelings of a large workload and a lot of responsibility on my shoulders and now, I am able to take a step back and see the big picture. In addition, I have been able to handle my divorce in a civil manner, regardless of what she may do. I have been able to cope with work and understand my boss more and how to deal with situations that happen at work. I don't hold the stress and anxiety of military service on my shoulders anymore, and in general I just feel happier! I enjoyed how fun Jill makes the sessions. You would figure talking about things such as relationships or job health or stress and anxiety would be negative, but Jill forms everything in a positive manner!" - Matt Trevor, Howell, MI
"My son had just gotten out of the military and was having some issues coping with getting back into civilization. Also dealing with life as a 21 year old young man with a wife and now 2 children. The pressures of life along with being a soldier, husband, son, employee, etc., he was overwhelmed. My son worked with Jill through her program with the horses and private coaching. The changes I have seen in my son have been demonstrably different. Positive, community based, family oriented, goal oriented, thankful and communicates from a standpoint of confidence, strength and grace. I'm so happy he went through Jill's program! I would definitely recommend veterans struggling with stress and overwhelm to work with Jill." - Lynn Elberson, Howell, MI
