This world needs to start thinking BEYOND WASTE, and to what we can do with it!
Food-scraps do NOT belong in landfill, they belong back in the ground.
Kooda's vision is to make it mainstream to source separate organic waste (keeping your kitchen clean and tidy at the same time!) and to send it somewhere good. We want to do this in a CLEAN, EASY, and EFFICIENT manner for urban dwellers, so they don't have to turn their life upside down to live sustainably.
To do that, we need funding to grow. Founder, Carly, a single mum and Engineer, has been bootstrapping till now, doing her R & D getting the composting and vermiculture process just right.
This is not a vague dream: Kooda has been collecting and processing around 3000L per week of food waste from Perth residents and businesses for 5 months now. However this is not enough, we need to buy equipment to do it better, and to increase the volume processed up to 15 tonnes/week. There is a capital cost "hump" that needs to be met to grow to that size!

It's effortless!
Put your food scraps into a Kooda bucket. All it takes from there is one click in the app and we'll collect it. ON call collection from our Gatherers.
A cleaner, happier home
Imagine a kitchen bin with no smells or slime. By removing the food waste factor, your bin will be cleaner and free from food-borne odours.
Save the planet
Our solution reduces our customers carbon footprint by 1.9kg carbon dioxide for every kg of scraps not sent to landfill.
The Kooda process is simple - and stylish!
Our Customers get a shiny new kitchen accessory
Bring Kooda into your Kitchen. We give each household 2 buckets, one for the bench, one for the street. Start filling the second while we come collect the first. We leave a clean one when we pick up a full one.
Tell us it's ready — we collect
When our customers bucket are full, they simply nominate a safe outdoor location where they can pick up your Kooda bucket — we collect on demand!
No landfill. No trucks.
Our local collection points will produce healthy compost, which we then process further in worm warehouses nearby. This campaign is to fund the FIRST WORMHOUSE!
Grow something yourself
We'll regularly deliver our customers the end product - worm castings - use on your garden or indoor plants. It's like vitamins for your plants! The rest, we will send out to farmers and agriculture to increase the organic matter in soils!
