Our Aim
Brothers 4 Recovery has travelled over 70,000kms of Australia delivering Addiction, Mental Health and Wellbeing camps to Men and youth across over 70 communities.
Every kilometre travelled has been through hiring or borrowing a bus or a vehicle to operate these youth or men's camps and with your help its time to try and secure our own.
Our main purpose
is to start conversations about the difficult topics of addiction and mental health wellbeing in Australian communities that are significantly affected by substance abuse and suicide. We typically speak to people who are:
▶️ Seeking to avoid or remove addiction and mental health challenges from their lives
▶️ Looking for more information around services for mental health and social and emotional wellbeing issues.
What's Covered
The topics we cover in our workshops and Camps include the journey into and out of addiction and mental health wellbeing, where to seek help and mental health aspects associated with addiction such as depression, anxiety and suicide.
Our Approach
We believe our approach is most effective when we are funded to engage with a community multiple times, enabling us to more deeply understand and work with the culture and dynamics of each community.
This enables us to provide continuing care and support where it is most needed, be it school programs to address recidivism and school attendance, talking to inmates in addiction in jails, connecting with employment providers to help long term unemployed people who are experiencing drug and alcohol dependency issues or housing providers, mens groups and social.and emotional wellbeing groups to discuss these issues and how to work through these from a lived experience perspective.
Funds Raised
Funds raised will help us enhance the scope in which we deliver our camps and help us engage with participants on a more regular basis to recieve better health outcomes for the individual, their families and their communities.
Funds raised will help Brothers 4 Recovery transport youth and men to and from Camps which is currently a massive obstacle.
Funds Breakdown
$25,000 will be allocated to the purchase of the Bus
$5,000 will go towards signage and Insurance of the Bus
Some Workshops
Mens Addiction Awareness Camp.
B4R Mens and Families Wellness Camp South Coast.
Mens Wellness Camp Condobolin NSW.
Our Vision
B4R was created to provide support to men avoiding and removing addiction or addressing Mental health from in their lives based on the powerful stories of people who have overcome addiction themselves.
We are a small organization run by men, that focuses on working with communities to address drug, alcohol and gambling addiction along with Mental health and suicide prevention.
The approach is based on the delivery of intensive workshops delivered in locations which have significantly high percentage rates of substance abuse related incidences and Suicide rates. Currently the program is delivered on a one-off basis, however the model has been developed to accommodate a tailored delivery plan for each community which provide intensive support through targeted activities every three months (depending on funding and the start some good campaign being available to cover costs of delivery).
