Background
Today
Sacret Heart Lda (the parent company of Walls of Benin) officially opens its first round of investment - We aim to raise a minimum of 500k over the next 6-12 months.
We have completed a proposal for funding from the EU to the value of 250k which will be confirmed in January 2016
See confirmation here: https://goo.gl/QTCNBc
We aim to raise the balance from a mixture of crowdfunding and equity based investment.
This is phase one.
Our social Impact
Our reason for being is to do good on a massive scale. We are working hard to join the unicorns of ethical fashion and product, such as Toms and Warby Parker, through our mix of strong ethics, strong design
and use of technology.
How?
We are the only brand in the world that lets our wearers do good in their sleep - every product sold will fund an entrepreneur on the African continent through a micro
loan.
We are partnering with KIVA to support their good work in assisting entrepreneurs in the developing world.
This will be our impact from day one.
Further down the road once we achieve the right scale with the brand and join the right partners and investors, we will build a production facility on the African continent
(Starting West- Ghana/Cameroon).
Our ultimate goal is to have a network of factories on the continent.
What is going on in the world that makes this important?
The world is changing fast. China, the workshop of the world, is changing fast. In 2012, Huajin, Chinas's largest shoe manufacturer built a factory in Ethiopia. Over
the past few years there has been a steady flow of investment by the Chinese (and others) in manufacturing in several African countries and also helpful trade policy to give duty free access to African made goods such as the AGOA act.
This is a giant step forward into a new reality.
We believe in the near future African countries will produce cars, electronics and other tradable goods. Developing production capacity through light manufacturing and
textiles is the first step on this journey towards major industrialisation. This has been the pattern for all industrialised economically advanced countries.

We are ready to go Global and we have the right partners to make it happen. We have been selected as one of the most promising creative companies to join the Creative Startups
accelerator.
This is the much needed fuel we need to light our fire and help us launch into the world.
