Who are we?
Trash Mob is a youth-led community group that meet every month to pick up rubbish around Canberra, and meet other like-minded legends. Trash Mob was started in 2017 by a small group of friends. Since then, we have cleaned up in 30 locations around the ACT, and brought hundreds of new people into our movement! Over the two years, we have formed a team of passionate volunteers, collaborated with a bunch of other community groups and politicians, and spread awareness about the harms of plastic pollution and littering.
Why are we doing it?
By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. This is an alarming figure, but something that we believe can be changed through community action! We want to protect Canberra's natural beauty and waterways from the harmful toxins in plastic, and create a city where plants, animals and humans thrive.
How can you help?
Help us to keep doing what we love! Your donation will sustain our group to continue putting on great events, and removing rubbish from our beautiful city and bushland.
