Our Story
In 2012 we learned about the horrors of human trafficking for the first time and we could no longer turn a blind eye. We knew that the organizations fighting human trafficking locally and internationally needed support and that the people in communities like me and you wanted to help but didn't know how.
Stories Foundation & Cafe
So, the vision for Stories Cafe was born. A place where people could come, be in community together, but also take a first step in fighting injustice by buying their coffee or meal at a place where profits go back to organizations on the ground.
Our vision is big and for the last 3 years we have been working on solidifying our business plan, organizing the nonprofit Stories Foundation, and spreading awareness about human trafficking. Stories is empowering communities to catch the vision of what many of individuals can do when they come together. Now it is time to put our boots on the ground, to start small and work our way to big. Enter the Stories Cafe Food Truck.
Our Project
We are raising funds to purchase a Food Truck so that the vision of empowering local communities to fight against human trafficking can become a reality. Now as we travel around the cities, starting in Brooklyn Park, we will not only spread awareness but we will also provide tangible ways for our customers to know they are doing their part in fighting against injustice as part of our Stories Food Truck proceeds will go back to nonprofits locally and internationally.
Why it Matters
Human Trafficking is a $150 billion industry and we all have a part to play in decreasing demand for slaves worldwide. With 21 million people enslaved in the labor trafficking industry when we choose to reallocate our dollars and purchase local and fair trade we begin to change the demand for slave labor. 4.5 million people are victims of sexual slavery in the world today and there are organizations spreading awareness, investigating, providing after care and working in areas of restoration. They all need the support of people like you. This is where our vision for Stories comes from. Our Food Truck will be a Cause on Wheels that will empower people like you to learn about the real ways you can make a difference in fighting against injustice and it all starts with where you buy your lunch or cup of coffee. What we do every day matters, and when we all do something together we can see change.
Our Budget
Food Truck: $15,000- $25,000
One Time Start Up Costs - $5,000

How Can You Help?
Alone, we are only a few people with a big dream but if you join with us we can bring change to a world that is governed by darkness. A world where people are treated as less than human. A Food Truck, A Cafe, these are small things but if we work together, as a community, we can make a big difference. So will you join us? Will you help us get our Cause on Wheels going to raise awareness in our communities, so we can change the demand for labor trafficking and financially support those on the ground supporting the victims of sex trafficking? Will you give now and share this campaign with your friends? We need your help. We can fight against injustice and together we can make a difference.
