One afternoon, childhood friends Feng and Amina stepped out of their Lower East Side school, located in one of the most densely built cities in the world. By luck and courage they walked into a green oasis across the street, Children's Magical Garden, where
they were welcomed with open arms. There they found breathing space. Grownups mentored them as they planted fruit trees and grew vegetables. They learned about nature, making a difference, and eventually got into prestigious New York State colleges.
Now young adults, Feng, Amina and other youth want to give back what they've learned, inspiring the next generation of our community's children.
Your funding will support opening the gates to hundreds of more youth for years to come. Feng, Amina and their mentors will be teaching them about chickens, community compost, abundant fruit trees, herbal medicine, berry bushes and much much more....
This how your money transforms the urban L.E.S. into growing magic:
1. Your contribution of $18 will provide 10 children a
whole day of youth led environmental education
2. Your contribution of $30 will provide 5 days of
chicken workshops to children young and old
3. Your contribution of $50 will provide
children-size gardening tools and wheel barrows

two weeks worth of art supplies for budding artists
5. Your contribution of $300 will provide
starters & plants for two large educational beds

Feng and Amina, along with a community garden full of committed adult volunteers, are ready with open arms to welcome the children of many parents who both work after school and especially during the summer months. They will be ready with your support to share
their skills and knowledge and to light up the worlds of the young ones coming up. This program supports their ability to change the world, one child at a time, by fostering their love of nature.
