Urban Community School is an inner city school in Cleveland OH with an After-School Program Art Club for grades K-6 to help give students self confidence and express themselves.
Giving Inner City Gr. K-6 students an outlet to express themselves creatively, give them self confidence and pride in themselves and the artwork they create, which helps them become better students, and empowers them to be the best person they can be.
We're helping these children take pride in themselves and express themselves in ways they never thought they could through art. By supplying these wonderful instructors with paints, markers, colored pencils, chalks, pastels, clays, and many other mediums, students will create wonderful masterpieces they can take pride in. Kidzart Ohio which serves hundreds of students in the surrounding areas, is using its buying power and can leverage the lowest prices possible for this Art Club, so they have enough supplies for an entire semester.
Urban Community School is a Gr. K-8 school in the City of Cleveland, founded in 1968 that serves approximately 430 students. Urban Community School was the first elementary school in Cleveland to receive the Excellence in Education Award from the U.S. Department of Education and was named a School of Excellence by The Cleveland Foundation and The George Gund Foundation in 2008 and was recently accepted into Schools That Can, "a national nonprofit network of stand-alone, high-performing independent and charter schools operating in underserved communities.
The after care program serves Gr. K-6, and provides a safe environment for students between 2:30pm- 6:30pm. The instructors provide a quality enrichment program, but need additional funding in order to help bring Visual Art enrichment to these students. With your help, these students will be able to create wonderful pieces of art, learn to express themselves in ways never though possible, and have fun doing it.
