TOK Project

TOK is committed to seeing healing and hope brought in areas of injustice such as slave and sex trafficking. Our goal is to work with broken individuals to give them job opportunities, avenues for mental, emotional, and physical healing, and ultimately to help them realize their own dreams. We will start by teaching them to create handmade products with their hands and pay them fair wages to do so.

The Future We Are Creating

Many women and children who have been victims of sex and slave trafficking were sold by their own families and when they come out of these places of oppression they often have no place to go and no one to support them. Our desire at TOK is to provide specific opportunities for these individuals growth and healing. We strive to give them tangible working skills and teach them life skills for the future. Our end goal is to have these individuals leave our project a few years after coming to join as whole people again with skills and hope for the future to pursue their own dreams.

How We Are Creating It

Specifically at this point in time we have worked with women teaching them crochet skills to make handmade hats. We then sell these hats at a premium price so that we can pay good wages and continue to give work to more individuals. Our desire is to expand into countries where the sex trade is a large industry such as Thailand, Latvia, etc..

Our Story & Why You Should Support Us

My name is Micah List and the TOK Project started when I was 15 years old. I started making customized hats for my friends in school and for craft shows. Eventually I couldn't handle the work load so I gave jobs to a few select artisans in the dominican republic who needed work. I started to grow the project until I went to college. Since then I have been made aware to the issues of sex and slave trafficking, and I realized the impact that I could make in this area using a model that I already had established. People should support TOK Project because it has the potential to effect many individuals and to speak hope and healing to those who have only ever known injustice.
