Our aim to provide safe environments for victims of domestic violence educating them on community resources. We also aim to educate people on the destruction of domestic violence and do outreach work in the community.
The Sanctuary provides both men and women who are victims of abuse advice on domestic violence and counseling information for themselves and children. The organization also helps link the men and women to community services to stabilizing themselves and their children.
The Sanctuary organization meets basic human needs, offers support and help with budging household income.
The organization was founded by Charlotte Bright who has over 15 years' experience, working with vulnerable children and their families in the child care field.
Charlotte Bright has also worked as a Child Abuse Investigator and has first-hand knowledge of the devastation of domestic violence and the effects it has on victims as well as their children.
As a Child Abuse Investigator at a local law enforcement agency, it was there Charlotte Bright discovered housing for victims of domestic violence was limited and a lot of the properties were unaffordable due to the large deposits required.
Some of the accommodation is so limited often families had to split up causing further devastation. Most of the time local shelters are full to capacity and families had to seek alternative accommodation or return back to their abuser as they don't see any other alternatives.
