Help us make midwifery education more accessible within your community and globally.
There is a global shortage of midwives. It's estimated that the US alone will need 25,000 new midwives by the year 2020. Currently there aren't enough programs in existence to train even a portion of that number. The Community School of Midwifery is about to begin the second year of a midwifery education program that is evidence-based, holistic, comprehensive and sustainable. It's a timely solution to the pressing problem and we are working to take our model to other communities along with a clinical component that will ensure midwives across the nation get the best training possible.
As soon as we hit our tipping point of $4,000 we will be able to:
-File our 501c3 application
-Upgrade the distance education technology of our main site - specifically with a camera, mic, and projector
-Purchase more teaching aids including pelvic models, newborn dolls, uterus and pelvic floor models, suture models etc for our main site
-Fund a marketing campaign directed at potential students
When we get fully funded we will be able to:
-Upgrade the distance technology of our other two sites
-Purchase more teaching aids for our other two sites
-Find and secure a grant writer and project specific grant sources
-Create and fund a campaign directed toward large money donors
-Purchase desks and chairs for students
-Purchase better teaching equipment
