Takeashine is an online crowdfunding platform for underprivileged students who risk missing out on higher education because they are unable to meet their college costs.
Today, perhaps the biggest burdens faced by families is the inability to pay for higher education. For those coming from underserved backgrounds, the hurdles become even greater. Far too often, the difference between a student's calculated financial need and real financial need leaves a gap too wide to cross, and the chance to attend college becomes impossible.
That's where Takeashine steps in. Through Takeashine, students are able to raise up to their calculated individual Estimated Family Contribution, ensuring that they can close the gap between the "demonstrated" financial need and true financial need.

Our tipping point amount truly is the the tip of our funding iceberg: it is the basic amount we need to get our website up, running and ready for students to use.
Every penny raised post-tipping point will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of our daily operations. Additionally, with post-tipping point funds, we will be able to speed up the efficiency of the application process: from online application, through student vetting and completing successful campaigns. This will enable students to begin raising money sooner and more effectively.
For every $200 dollars raised after the tipping point, Takeashine will be able to apply it towards awareness campaigns in low-income communities about our ability to serve as a vehicle for college.
