Cancer can be a lonely existence. My mom lives 1,200 miles away, making all of her cancer tests & treatments that much harder for both of us. 

This is why I created SMAC! -- to give Mom a “buddy” she could hug to remind her that I am with her.

Now, the first two SMAC! prototypes, NoMo and Phoenix, are ready to rumble. NoMo fights ALL cancers, and Phoenix is dedicated to SMAC!-ing lung cancer. My mom takes NoMo & Phoenix along to doctor visits & for hospital stays, and she feels me with her.  

Ultimately, I want to create a custom monkey for each type of cancer. 

SMAC! Mission

I want the SMAC! gang to unite those with/impacted by cancer through “creature” comfort & love, launch a global movement focused on giving & create social change.

 Here are the campaign goals:

 - Secure funding to launch the SMAC! monkey product line

 - One SMAC! = Two: Follow the model set by Warby Parker Eyewear or TOMS Shoes that ensures that for every monkey purchased, a second monkey will go to someone else with cancer

 - Commit a portion of the proceeds to cancer research & programs

 -Develop partnerships with healthcare providers to create an elite team of SMAC! monkeys to be delivered to each of their cancer patients

First of all, I am big on accountability Please know I will be open, honest and forthcoming about where your SMAC! dollars go throughout the start-up process and beyond.

The tipping point funds ($27,000) will cover the production, packaging and shipping of approximately 500 SMAC! monkeys, as well as costs incurred and many start up costs (listed below). 

The total goal of $35,000 will enable me to produce, package and ship the second batch of SMAC! monkeys, approximately 1,000, as well as cover e-commerce, intellectual property, business planning, continued website development and other costs (listed below).

Tipping Point Funds

Tipping point funds will cover costs incurred, such as SMAC! monkey pattern/prototype creation and labor; manufacturer sample(s) development; manufacturer and importer production, shipping, safety inspection, packaging; fulfillment services and initial set-up charges; e-commerce platform services and initial set-up charges; payment gateway and merchant services accounts; logo, website development and domain, toy insurance; basic trademark and copyright protection, and purchase of two UPC codes. 

Beyond Tipping Point

Funds beyond the tipping point will go towards the following the costs: Continued manufacturing and importer production, shipping, safety inspection and packaging; fulfillment services monthly fee; e-commerce platform services monthly fee; payment gateway and merchant services monthly fee, increased intellectual property protection, business organization and financial operational planning strategy; continued website development
