Quinzee is creating a world where individuals and institutions are conscious of their day-to-day energy use and make efficient decisions because they are empowered to do so. Gone are the days when a kWh is irrelevant and when we have no sense of where we stand in terms of our energy use as compared to others.

The current 'normal' behaviour of using energy as if it is a limitless resource, being disengaged with our energy footprint because it is expressed through confusing technical charts and terminology, is replaced by a 'New Normal" - where each of our energy choices are reflected in realtime - right in our pockets. We are empowered by information that is relevant, understandable and actionable. Our online 'profiles' not only reflect our age, interests and friends, but also show how great we are at making sustainable choices for the environment and our wallets.

In an age where our decisions are influenced and informed by the choices and behaviours of our peers and those whose opinions we respect (through platforms like facebook and twitter), it's time to leverage this dynamic for social and environmental impact. Capturing the increasingly available real-time energy data through the roll out of smart-meters in North America (nearly 100% penetration in Ontario), Quinzee anaylzes your consumption behaviours and shares distilled, relevant and easy to understand information with you so you know where you stand with respect to your neighborhood, friends, house-type or other comparable that may be relevant to you. it also allows you to forecast your bill and learn what you can do to be more efficient without compromising your quality of life.
