The Future We Are Creating

Although conflict in Ambon is over 10 years ago, but the conflict still have chance to occure. It is reported in KOMPAS, an largest Indonesian newspaper, that the social realatioanship between Muslim and Christian communities is not totally recovered. According to report from World Bank and Peace Conflict Report 2011, 90% conflict in the world have chance to reoccure.

How We Are Creating It

Peace Generation will train teachers both from Muslim and Chritian community about 12 basic value of peace using interactive module and. They will apply the teaching of peace education in their schools during the semester.

After one semester, students will have good understanding in 12 basic values of peace. The students will do 7 peace promises an being inagurated as "a Peace Generation"

Peace Generation will help both schools to make a joint program called Breaking Down The Walls, both school will be involved in social activities such as sport, planting trees, or community services. By good understanding of peace values (learnt from the class) and applying in real interaction they can rebuild trust and good realtionship.

Our Story & Why You Should Support Us

In 2006 Peace Generation Indonesia created creative module for peace education. This module is succesfully applied in Aceh, West Java, Banjarmasin, and Gorontalo.

The book was co-written by Irfan (Musim) and Eric (Christian). Since most Indonesian communities are Muslim, this module was formulated based on islamic values. However, some Christian comunities are interested in applying the program. In 2010 the Christian version of this book is published.
