The Future We Are Creating

This project will raise funds to support the ongoing work of Kaarakin, in its mission to protect, rehabilitate and release endangered species of Australian wildlife – including our Black Cockatoos. 

How We Are Creating It

“On a Wing and a Prayer”  follows the incredible life cycle of the Carnaby’s cockatoo through the engaging story of one small cockatoo family. Capturing a remarkable “never filmed before”  journey of life and hope for one of Australia’s most loved, but critically, endangered birds, this DVD will be sold through schools and P&C Associations as a fund raising project for Kaarakin.

Our Story & Why You Should Support Us

With a targeted advertising campaign to 5,000 schools and P&C Associations starting in late July 2012, the sale of 2,000 DVD's will raise $40,000 for Kaarakin and provide future avenues for educational events. 

There is a comprehensive advertising and follow up sales campaign for the DVDs in place, to ensure they will successfully raise the expected funds in the community.  It is a major educational project to teach children and their parents about our iconic black cockatoos and their need for environmental protection.
