Help us build mobile tents for disaster victims

Help us build mobile tents for disaster victims Photo

The Emergency Inflatable bed tent is a fully enclosed sleeping compartment. Un-inflated the unit is about the size of a large sleeping bag and can be transported and air dropped anywhere in the world on pallets for workers and victims for disaster relief. In seconds anyone can blow up this inflatable combination bed and tent and have a comfortable place to sleep. Additional uses are for camping, hospitals and home use.

The Future We Are Creating

Our main goal is to provide ready and easy and accessible emergency shelters to people in disaster relief situations. These shelters are self contained and can be blown up in minutes without electricity.

How We Are Creating It

We have built several prototypes to prove the concept works. In order to build a finished model we need to purchase either a million dollar machine or go to a manufacture that can build the finished model.

In order to keep cost down the manafacture charges a base fee for a fifteen unit minimum. These fifteen units are very exspensive. $10,000.  Once the design is finished and large orders are made the price levels will go down by 70%.

We would have to travel to the manafacture and spend about a month working with them on the design aspects and to make sure production costs and quality standards are adhered to.

We will give away several models to those who donate and we will use several to use as demo models.

Once we have several finished models we can then approach FEMA and other disaster relief organizations with the idea.

At this point we are wating for funding to go further on this project.

Our Story & Why You Should Support Us

The Emergency Inflatable Bed Tent ( the Pod)is a revolutionary new idea that incorporates both an inflatable tent and inflatable mattress as one easy and indestructible and wind proof sleeping compartment. The POD is compact and can be easily shipped anywhere in the world to disaster victims and or emergency workers. In addition, numerous configurations and sizes allows it to be used as a hospital bed, a crib or even a quarantine area. Additional netting allows it to be used in very hot weather and can protect users from bugs and mosquito’s. The pod can also be used for camping and in home use for guests who want a little privacy with easy one step setup.

The Emergency Inflatable tent bed idea came from my own disaster experience. In 2003 when living in San Diego I lost my home and a lot I owned to what they called the San Diego wild fires.  To this day I remember being told by FEMA to head on down to Jack Murphy Stadium (now QUALCOM stadium) and to bring a tent and an inflatable mattress. We could stay there until more permanent arrangements could be made. FEMA would provide the food and water .We were expected to provide the bed and tent. I was lucky because I had friends and never went but from what I heard the stadium was packed. I always wondered where thousands of people were supposed to go get a tent and inflatable mattress ? A couple of years later after hearing about the hundreds of thousands of people displaced by the Haiti disaster I kept thinking how were disaster victims down there  suppose to  find their own tent and inflatable mattress if I couldn’t find one in San Diego in 2003.. At that time I decided to work on the idea.

WHAT THE WORLD NEEDED WAS AN INFLATABLE TENT WITH AN INFLATABLE MATTRESS INSIDE IT.
